Team Finland China is organizing a working visit to Yunnan on May 12-13, 2021. The visit is led by Ms. Mari Korhonen, Team Leader, Economic and Trade Policy, Embassy of Finland, Beijing. The themes for this visit are winter sports and education.


Yunnan is an emerging market for winter sports. In recent years, the provincial government has been aggressively driving winter sport development in the province, especially sports venue planning and construction, professional athlete training, winter sports promotion for the public and in schools, local winter sport teacher training as well as ice & snow camping.


During this working delegation you will have the possibility to visit Yunnan Provincial Sports Bureau and related sports venues to further explore and identify the opportunities.


Education is a very important focus for the Yunnan local government. There are almost 90 universities and colleges (including 50 vocational colleges), over 12 000 compulsory education schools (elementary and middle schools), over 1 000 secondary schools (including middle level vocational schools, technician schools) and almost 13 500 pre-education schools in the province.


During this working delegation the tentative program will consist of meetings with officials, as well as with universities, colleges, schools, educational agencies and companies. The topics will be relating to preschool education, vocational education, joint education programs, teacher's training, study tours, ice and snow education at schools, junior physical education and winter sports education.
